WHAT IS THE INVESTMENT?
Rates are subject to change at any time. Sessions are $150, due in full at the time of booking. The Session Fee covers the service component of the session including studio time, themed costumes & props, preparation of your proofs and your return in-person viewing/ordering appointment. The session fee does not include any images or products.
The cost of your artwork will vary depending on the type of portraits created from your session. Most of our clients spend between $800 - $1800 on their portraits. Some spend less, some spend more – what you order is entirely up to you. We love working with our clients to create the perfect artwork to display in your home, and helping you order the products that will suit you best. Payment of orders is due in full when the order is placed, after final client approval. Chasing Whimsy is also pleased to offer interest-free 3 and 6 month payment plans – please inquire for details.
HOW DO I SCHEDULE A SESSION?
To schedule a session, Chasing Whimsy needs to obtain all the necessary information, such as number and ages of subjects and the type of session and editing style you are looking for, via phone or email. The session fee is also required via e-transfer at the time of booking to reserve your spot. PLEASE NOTE: MINIMUM AGE IS 4 YEARS (no maximum!)
CAN I CANCEL/RESCHEDULE MY SESSION?
Your prepaid session fee is non-refundable should you cancel, but is transferrable to another date with at least 72 hours notice. Please keep in mind that rescheduling will be subject to photographer availability and may be limited. Rescheduled sessions are also subject to the prices current at the time of rescheduling.
VIEWING YOUR IMAGES
1-2 weeks after your session, you will return to the studio to view your portrait proofs (out-of-town clients have the option of doing a live, online viewing session). Because you will be placing your order at this appointment, please bring everyone necessary to discuss your selections.
Up to 10 of the best poses from your session will be shown as a slideshow set to music, then individually where we will discuss the creative potential of your favorite poses for the finished piece(s). Chasing Whimsy will select one image to fully edit as an example - the rest will be shown with only basic editing to preview pose and expression. We will be right there with you, guiding you with each step and offering our professional opinion to ensure you get exactly what you want in terms of both editing and product selection. Once your portraits are chosen, they will take 4-6 weeks to complete, depending on what you order. A deposit will be required at your viewing, with the balance due once your portraits are ready for printing. Payment plans are also available to spread out your investment.
YOUR ARTWORK
Chasing Whimsy portraits are much more than just a photograph. Each pose you choose will be digitally hand-painted into a unique and whimsical art piece, skillfully incorporating artistic enhancements and special elements to produce a magical and surreal fantasy image. There are different levels of editing possible, designed to best suit your tastes and budget, from full background swaps and added digital elements to a more basic painted look that simply enhances the studio set as is.
Chasing Whimsy is pleased to be partnered with a local fine art printer to ensure your investment and memories are displayed as intended and will last a lifetime. All papers, inks, canvas and coatings are museum-archival quality and feature beautiful depth and vibrancy that surpasses anything possible from a retail printer. It is our absolute pleasure to present your finished art, and we are happy to deliver to local clients!
ORDER CANCELLATION POLICY
Chasing Whimsy portrait work is custom-created and all sales are final. This means that once an order is placed, it cannot be changed or altered under any circumstances. Chasing Whimsy guarantees that the portraits you receive meet the highest standards of quality and we work with our clients to approve your artwork before orders are placed.
DIGITAL FILES
Chasing Whimsy provides complimentary watermarked, web-sized digital files with every image you purchase. These shareable files are for personal use only, and will be provided to you once your images are fully edited and the order has been paid in full. The files are perfect for all types of electronic distribution from email to phones – we love when our clients share their portraits!
Chasing Whimsy retains copyright to all images and does not sell high resolution digital files or print licences. Our desire is to see your investment preserved on museum-quality products with exceptional presentation, thus we personally handle the printing process to ensure your portraits display as intended and will last a lifetime. Clients are not permitted to authorize Chasing Whimsy portraits to be copied, scanned or reproduced in any manner.
